Volunteer Opportunities – How Can I Help?
Heart Month Special Event Coordinators
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI needs people to assist with the organization and execution of fundraising and public awareness events during the month of February, which is Heart Month. These positions require a time commitment from November through March.
Fundraising Administrative Support
The Foundation needs administrative support people to assist the fundraising manager with a variety of tasks including receipting, phoning, mailing and faxing. These are ongoing positions to be filled during regular business hours.
Health Fair Representatives
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI requires individuals to act as Foundation representatives at Island health fairs. Knowledge of heart disease and stroke are necessary qualifications for these positions. Volunteers taking on this role are required to be available only a few hours per month – assistance is needed in each county.
Area Leaders and Team Captains
The annual Person-to-Person Campaign raises many thousands of dollars every February, which is Heart Month. This is only possible through the commitment and efforts of Area Leaders and Team Captains who organize volunteers in each community across Prince Edward Island. If you can help us by organizing a group of volunteers in your community, the time commitment would only be several hours a week from early January until the end of March.
The success of the Heart Month Person-to Person Campaign is largely due to the dedication of hundreds of volunteers who canvass in their neighbourhoods. If you have time to share, the commitment can be a little as a few hours. Every hour contributed by an Island volunteer makes a difference. Those with more time can further assist us by working on administration for the Person-to-Person Campaign or by fulfilling a campaign leadership role.
